Background and Mission Statement
The Choices Not Chances Podcast came about after the release of Ryan Rogers’s new book, "Lions of Marjah". The Podcast is a veteran-oriented work, focusing on interviews of not only combat veterans but the families and lives they lead transitioning from combat. We will feature veteran aid of all types and consistently plug new therapies, as well as make an effort to bridge the civilian/military divide. The warfighting experience comes with many changes, some tolerable, others not as much. Semper Fi!
RYAN N. ROGERS HOST
Ryan N. Rogers was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. He joined the Marine Corps in 2004 after graduating high school and served from 2004 until 2015. He attained the rank of Sergeant and was medically retired. Ryan went on to get his AA as well as a BA in Homeland Security (Magna Cum laude). He then published his war memoir, "Lions of Marjah", followed by the creation of the CNC podcast. Ryan lives in North Carolina with his wife and 3 children.
MATTHEW N. CHARETTE CO-HOST
Matthew N. Charette was born and raised in central Massachusetts. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 2006 and served until 2011. He attained the rank of Sergeant. After his military service he graduated for Nashville Auto Diesel College, located in Nashville, Tennessee. He earned a degree in auto diesel technologies with a specialty in heavy equipment repair. He currently resides in south Louisiana with his wife and son.
